twoDINE:
Sfoglia
1402 Lexington Ave., NY, NY 10128
(212) 831-1402
In a city where glamour and clamor walk hand-in-hand and a night at a restaurant can seem more like a Roberto Cavalli fashion show, it's difficult to find an eatery where the two of you can reconnect and get away from the noise.
Even though it's located on a busy corner of the Upper East Side, Sfoglia seems as far away as a Tuscan village. This intimate Renaissance-inspired trattoria is rich in Old World Italian romance, with mismatched antique tables and elegant pink and bronze chandeliers. The casual rustic charm is the perfect backdrop for the two of you to enjoy a bottle of Chianti, a traditional Italian meal, and some quiet conversation.
Sfoglia's seasonal menu changes bi-monthly and is inspired by produce available from the Greenmarket network. We love the pappardelle alla Bolognese, made from a succulent combination of veal, lamb and pork. If seafood is more your taste, the wild mussels with tomato, garlic, salami and fennel seed are magnifico.
Of course, your meal will not be complete without sharing the Torta del Giorno—or tart of the day.

twoDRINK:
Cafe d'Alsace

Only a short stroll away, leave the Tuscan fields behind you for the gentle, forested mountains of Alsace, France.
Cafe d'Alsace has more than 110 varieties of beer and a dedicated beer sommelier to assist you in selecting the best French, German, or Belgium brews. Don't worry if beer is not your forte. Cafe d'Alsace has an ample wine list, as well as cordials, cognacs and ports.
Our suggestion: Take advantage of their candlelit sidewalk seating and snuggle together on a warm night under the stars with a late night spirit.
